Native Habitat: Democratic
Republic of the Congo. Only known from brooks under forest cover in the Kwango and Gamba River area of Zaire.
Temperament: Generally pretty peaceful and
docile.
Feeding: Some flake foods high in protein and
adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as
grindal worms,
white worms,
Daphnia,
Moina, and newly
hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Temperature Range:
68 -
74°F, ideal range 68 - 72°F
pH: 6.5 - 7.2
Adult Size: 1.8"
Sexing:
Males are colorful with color in tails and a darker body. Fish is a
brownish orange, but will take on more of an orange tone, if fed a heavy diet of
newly hatched brine shrimp nauplii.

of the Aph. elegens group, but is found only in a limited population range and
not much in color variation.
