Native Habitat: Africa:
S.W. Cameroon.
Temperament: Peaceful and
prefers upper strata, well lit aquarium, and plants. Can be aggressive
with its own kind, notably mating competition between males. Therefore best kept in trios, rather than
pairs.
Feeding: Some flake foods high in protein and
adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as
grindal worms,
white worms,
Daphnia,
Moina, and newly
hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing:
Males more colorful and with display fins
Comments:
Easy first
killifish for hobbyist. Lifespan is 5 years.. Non-annual plant spawners.
