Native Habitat: Africa:
southeastern Nigeria over western
and southwestern Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea to northwestern Gabon.
Temperament: Timid and prefers
well-planted aquariums. Therefore best kept in trios, rather than pairs.
Feeding: Some flake foods high in protein and
adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as
grindal worms,
white worms,
Daphnia,
Moina, and newly
hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing:
Males more colorful and with display fins
Comments:
Very easy first killifish for hobbyist. Non-annual plant spawners.
